I wonder if anyone'll take the time to read this.. I really recommend you do because I don't want to waste time on writing stuff no one reads!
Kidding (but seriously
(⊙_⊙) ), it's some pretty good info, for real.
Hippokrates (460 bc - 370 bc.), often called the father of medication, said:
"Let the food be your medicine".
Well spoken Hippokrates!
This is the first post in a series I'm doing about how to "save your skin". This is mostly going to be focused on food and the fact that what you eat makes a huge difference on your skin.
I'm not afraid to admit I have shitty skin, it's really hard to deal with. It's acne prone and even if my skin has pretty much cleared up I still have breakouts now and then, but I have found ways to take control and one of them is my lifestyle.
Better prevent than cure is my motto when it comes to skincare.
The skin is our biggest organ, but also the bodies last priority when it comes to where it'll send the minerals, vitamins and the other good stuff. Basically, if we don't eat enough vitamins, minerals etc, the ones we DO eat will go to our more important organs, which is the inner ones. So what I'm trying to say is, it isn't enough to just eat a broccoli and be like "Fine, I've eaten my healthy food for today",
(Not like you just go grab a broccoli on the go and eat, but you get my point), you have to do more than that. The food you eat will show on our outer appearance, we all know this, but mostly we then think of wether we'll become fat or skinny, not the fact that our skin will take damage too.
So I'm going to give some tip on foods that are good for you that you really should consider put into your regular diet.
I'm mostly writing down stuff I eat myself, so no wishy woshy stuff.
Omega 3 is great for the skin and here's way to get it without popping capsules (which is by the way bad for the environment)
- Salmon (Switch low fat fish for salmon every now and then)
- Avocado (Add to your salad or eat with some cottage cheese, mmmm! Or spread on bread hihi rhymes.)
- Walnuts (Snackalack on this instead of popcorn, crisp etc. Contains a lot of calories though, so don't over eat.)
- Flax seed (Be careful with this, they are laxative.)
- linseed oil (Mix with some vinegar and spices and put on salad, or cottage cheese, the protein in the cheese will help the body pick up the omega 3 easier)
Enough rambling for this post, or it'll be to much text.
I will be back soon with more stuff from my diet, or lifestyle or whatever you wish to call it. I prefer "food habits".
